Copyright, records and the limits of what a journal like this can be relied on for.
1. Copyright
Text is the copyright of its author and photographs the copyright of the photographer, in both cases licensed to Quillmoor Journal for use in the journal and its online archive. Nothing here may be reproduced elsewhere without the author's or photographer's permission, which we will pass on a request for.
2. Quotation
Short quotation with attribution, for review, teaching or a conservation submission, is fine and does not need permission. Wholesale reproduction of a site account is not.
3. Records
Records published here are the contributor's own, are not adjudicated by us and carry no county status. Publication in QUILLMOOR is not submission to the county recorder and does not substitute for it. A record printed here may later be revised or rejected by the recorder, and where we learn of that we print it.
4. Sensitive species
We withhold locations of breeding raptors, and of other species where publication would create a risk. Requests to publish such a location are declined without discussion.
5. Site accounts and access
Site accounts describe access arrangements as they stood when written. Rights of way, permissions, tides and conditions change. Readers are responsible for their own safety on the Solway, where the tide runs faster than most visitors expect, and for checking access before crossing private land.
6. Subscriptions
Subscriptions run for four issues from the current issue at the time of joining. If you cancel we refund the unposted issues. If we cease publication we refund the balance in full, which we would consider a matter of obligation rather than policy.
7. No commercial content
We carry no advertising, publish no sponsored or commissioned content, review no equipment and accept no free equipment. If any of that ever changes it will be stated on the page it appears on, in the same size type as the rest.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by Scots law.
